A lesson regarding stowing items in pockets.

08/27/06 | by Mikey | Categories: Motorcycle, Commuting

MikeyThis morning I perform my pre-ride check to make sure I have everything. I'm only going to work so I need to have my badge and my muffies. Muffies go over my headphones to cushion them.

I have both items in my cargo pocket on my right leg. During my ride the velcro tabs that keep the pocket shut had come open a few times. I managed to close my pocket and I kept an eye on it during the ride to work this morning.

Apparently I didn't keep as close of an eye as I thought because when I arrived at work and tried to recover my I.D from my pocket it was missing.

Well, I can't say it's lost because I know it's somewhere along the road. All 14 miles of it on my commute to work. Chance of recovery is looking slim, but I will keep my eyes open.

Cost of a new photo I.D: $10.00
Cost of a proximity card for access: $15.00.

Look on the security guard's face when I explained my badges must have flew off my motorcycle and landed on the road somewhere.....Priceless.

I'm special.
