Well, I'm still riding around in 30 degree tempatures on the freeway and such. One of these days I'll see if I can find a windchill calculator just for grins. Anywho, my chaps help out bunches so the only few things to fix are my neck area and hands.
They get pretty chilly. Especially my hands, after 10 miles, 8 on the interstate, they are at the point where they are almost painfully numb. Unlike city riding, I can't warm up my hands at redlights via my engine heat.
So I did a little shopping today after reading the motorcycle forums I frequent. I purchased a balaclava for about $5.00. I just hope no one shoots me when I'm taking my helmet off. I'm not a bank robber. ^^
That is not me above, that's a model in a balaclava. :-p
I also purchased new gloves. They are the Alpinestars WR-1 gloves.
WR = Winter Riding.
Gore-Tex® Membrane.
ThinsulateT insulation.
Adjustable Velcro® cuff closure.
Synthetic suede palm patch for added grip.
Leather reinforced palm.
Reflective piping for increased visibility.
Embroidered logos.
EVA foam knuckle and finger protection.
They retail for $80.00 but I grabbed them on eBay for about $20 cheaper. Not bad. :P After I get them and cruise around with them, I will post a personal review.
I was going to suggest a scarf, but I see you got a thingy to help your neck. I could make you a fleece scarf!!!
Just ask Brian.
